These were the dreamers, three slumbering blonde women, elegantly draped in radiant silk, basking in the soft glow of an overhead light.
As I entered the Birmingham Museum, there they were, nestled on a sofa. Two were in a tranquil slumber, while the third seemed to teeter on the threshold between dreams and wakefulness. I couldn't help but stand there for what felt like an eternity, entranced by the intricate details and the sheer perfection of the scene before me. This encounter marked a long-anticipated date with these dreamers, who were none other than the subjects of Albert Joseph Moore's (1841–1893) masterpiece.
